This Drop-In Soft Edge Graduated ND 1.2 Filter from Haida darkens specific areas of an image, such as bright skies, while allowing for a normal, unaffected exposure in the other regions of the image. The filter is densest at the edge and tapers to clear by the middle. The soft edge is suitable for images that do not have a strongly defined transition between the sky and the foreground. This filter provides up to a 4-stop reduction in light. The aluminum frame features a geared thumbwheel to rotate the filter to the desired position.
This filter is constructed from optical glass for clarity and color fidelity. To prevent internal ghosting and reflections, each surface includes 10 layers of anti-reflection coatings. The Nano coating provides an additional layer that provides improved beading effect when the surface comes in contact with water or oil, allowing easy and efficient cleaning.
