Carl Zeiss CFi series
The third generation of Carl Zeiss lenses with a built-in leaf shutter, introduced in 1998. Compared to the original CF lens series, the CFi/CFE lenses were vastly improved in internal and external design for unsurpassed image quality as well as even better reliability and handling comfort.
- New internal design and new anti-reflection materials reducing stray-light flare to a minimum;
- Improved design of the Prontor leaf shutter, which prolongs its life and increases the lasting precision;
- All shutter speeds up to 1/500 sec. synchronized automatically for electronic flash;
- Aperture and shutter speed can be set independently for complete creative control or interlocked;
- PC-socket with a positive lock, which secures the flash contact even better;
- The "F" setting disengages the leaf shutter when using only the focal plane shutter in the camera body;
- New external design providing increased handling comfort and is styled to complement the camera body aesthetics;
- The redesigned focusing mechanism allows fast and exceptionally precise and sensitive focusing;
- Front and rear bayonet mounts were re-engineered to resist wear even better than previous designs.
